First Wedding Demands….

May 23, 2008

And now this is where the fun starts. The Bride, Achicabe (soon be to be Achison), has listed the first of her demands for the wedding. Next it will be that no one can wear Coast, Monsoon or Karen Millen. There goes my outfit.

Anywho, here is the demand published in its entirety for the first time. Make of it what you will.

Ok, Ok TECHNICALLY I know i am not allowed to contribute..as you have you have pointed out Stevie B. I am not a friend of Marsha.. I am Bridie,a second cousin once removed. LOL!!!

Anyway the reason I feel it is essential I contribute to this deeeericulous blog is the following. I would like to announce that as the Bride and ulitmate winner of the LOVELY SHOE OFF!.

I do think it is a good idea to have a runner up prize and dare I say it a “Winner”. However due to the enormous stress which has been placed upon my shoulders and the fact that I will be under sooo much pressure to make sure, that the flowers don’t in fact clash with Mr.T’s head AND that they are not more beautiful than ME!! AND that none of the guests make a show of themselves.

As Bridezilla I DEMAND like TOTALLY that a Shoe COMMITTTAAAAEEEEE (or COMMMIIITTTEEEEEEEEE for those prone to the other version) be formed. LIKE TOTALLY! I have taken it upon myself (as I am prone to) is to nominate a suitably qualified co-judge, whose integrity, reputation and encyclopaedic knowledge of shoes is beyond reproach. I therefore am appointing the fabulous FABULOUS of the kingdom of Bally (not the shoe)……. as my lovely assistant..

These are my demands Achi..xxxxx

Should these demands be met?? You decide.

Shoes are deeeericulous

May 16, 2008

Because they are…and I loves them so I do.

Shoes

The Critical and Never to be Underestimated Role of Shoes at the Marsha Wedding.

May 16, 2008

A post from roving reporter fffaaaaabbbbbbbulous..

Let us turn to Wikipedia for the definition first of all: ‘A shoe is an item of footwear. Shoes may vary from a simple flip-flop to a complex boot. Shoes may have high or low heels, although in western cultures, high heels are considered a women’s style’.

Sounds simple doesn’t it… get something practical and functional to cover your tootsies from damage… damage which can be particularly high risk at weddings…. Especially when the rhythmically challenged Mr Thompson and the rhythmically demonstrative Mr Hardiman are likely to be spending time in the dancing area!! But no….not simple at all I’m afraid. Layer on top the practicality … the fashion implications….. (pregnant pause for effect)……It is long noted the interest (stroke obsession) of Miss McCabe in all things foot related… not to mention a number of other guests, who could rival Imelda Marcos with their collections.

Between open toe’s, slingbacks, courts, FMB’s, Block heels (VERY in this season), pumps, patents, wedges,…. The list goes on and on! It’s as no surprise then to see that the hot news coming from ‘Camp Nuptials’ relates to …. You got it…. The Shoe Off.

Now, at this point, the boys reading this blog are thinking ‘… what?… what the fluck is a Shoe Off?…. it’s ridiculous… sorry deridiculous, what ever it is’… whereas the female readers are gazing out their cubicle window (if they are lucky enough to have a window) and sighing loudly… to the point that their colleagues will notice an electrical pulse in the air and ask them… ‘why are you smiling? What’s up… oh my gawd… have you met someone?/did you get engaged?/are you pregnant? (insert as appropriate)’.

Let’s get straight to the point ladies…. 30th May 2009… There will be A Shoe Off.

The bride will judge the shoe off (as automatically she will get 1st prize as it is her day!!), however competition for 2nd place….(ie really 1st place!) will be a fight to the finish I suspect.

At this early stage, all we can say is that marking criteria will include:
• Style and seasonal trend
• Co-ordination with overall outfit & accessories
• The SJP test (running in SJP kinda way and also looking stylish and ladylike)
• Poise, elegance and grace

A number of other marking criteria will be added as the months roll on.

PLEASE NOTE: The following areas will not merit any additional marks:
Comfort or practicality to the terrain of the location (ie gravel friendly shoes not really welcome!)

More details regarding the competition to follow… please feel free to submit any questions you may via this blog.

Flowers are deeeericulous

May 9, 2008

I was sooooo thinking about flowers early today and I had such a panic attack!! Its like only 1 year, or something, until the wedding and I have not thought about the flowers.

Now, I have to be soooooo careful about the flowers as they cannot take over from me as the most deeericulously beautiful thing in the church. And they can’t clash with Mr.T’s hair.

Any advice would be most welcome.
